Indian Govt. launches new website for e-pass amid LockDown

India is facing Lock-downs to contain the spread of Corona Virus.We are into LockDown 4.0 and Government has announced some relaxations.The Govt.has launched one website for applying for movement passes.This website is developed by National Informatics Centre(NIC).It currently provides e-passes for 17 states in India.

These e-passes are meant for people who want to travel from one state to other state for some specific reason,The citizens who aspire to travel can avail this facility.With this website,Govt. wants to have single window service for e-pass for the citizens.

As per guidelines of the website,the e-passes can be issued for specific categories of the travels.which includes - students,essential service providers,pilgrims,stranded tourists,medical/emergency and for marriage purpose.You need to provide genuine proof for travel with necessary documents.

If you wish to apply for e-pass then keep ready the scanned copies of the mandatory documents and the active phone number with sms facility for OTP verification.

 Steps to apply for the e-pass using e-Pass for Movement During Lockdown  

1.Open website "https://serviceonline.gov.in/epass/" on your PC or Mobile.

2. Under the tab Apply for e-pass,choose your state by clicking on "Select State to Apply e-pass" drop-down.

3.After this,appears a list of the e-pass services offered by the particular state.Select the type of e-pass you want to apply for.

4.After this page for state e-pass will open.Here you have to fill in the require details and upload the documents.Then submit the application.

5. Once submitted,you get the Application Reference to track the application status.

Steps to Track the e-pass application status

1.Open website "https://serviceonline.gov.in/epass/" on your PC or Mobile.

2.Under the tab,Track your Application.select the state for which you have submitted the application.

3.In the new page,select the option for through Application Reference number

4.Enter the Application reference number in the assigned box and captcha. Press the submit button to get the current status of your e-pass application

5.If you do not have Application Reference number with you,then select option 'Through OTP Application details'.Fill-in the details asked for and enter OTP you received on your mobile to get the status of e-pass application.
